In LA I had my baggage searched for the first time. It was actually quite nice, the customs agent was from Egypt and we talked the whole time. Met my parents at the airport - they were late, as usual. Took the long way home. It's amazing how quickly everything seems normal - I was expecting a difficult transition period. Hung out at the house, went out to Mexican food with my parents, Melinda (my sister) and Gary (her boyfriend). Crashed hard sometime after ten. Grateful to be home.
