Up at seven to decide about going diving - with some regrets we decided not to go. By the time we've made up our minds on what to do and gotten started it was eleven. Picked up a rental car, went shopping for lunch, and Sue, Stacy and I hit the road with Ekko (also staying at the Jesuit House). The drive up Babeldaob was long (3+ hours), but not as bad as expected. There were a couple really rough spots, but the road was dry so no problems. Notable parts of the ride were the capital that's under construction - it's extravagant, gaudy, and more than just a bit silly. The goal of the trip was Badrulchau on the northernmost tip of Babeldaob island. Badrulchau is a field of ancient monoliths - probably the supports for a truly giant Bai (men's meeting place). The drive back was a bit tense because of the dark but we made it back by 8:30. After diner I went to work on my photos but fell asleep instantly - in clothes and all.
